An excellent opportunity to join the Quaker Houghton EMEA EHS team in a position where you can gain experience working both internally and externally with our Fluidcare customer sites located within the French region while you can also actively participate in European and global projects. You will be able to engage not only with office and lab teams but also with our field-based technicians and customer key stakeholders to promote our EHSQ standards to ensure sustainability and the drive for continuous improvement.

What will you do?
This role will champion & drive a positive EHS culture across our French teams as part of an international team and reporting to the EMEA EHS Manager, Fluidcare and Commercial Operations based in the UK. Your priorities will be focused 80% on EHS and 20% on Quality activities as well.
Be responsible for the EHSQ management system within France and in line with ISO 9001 standards. Coordinate implementation of new ISO standards as needed.
Represent the business successfully and professionally with Fluidcare Customers (mainly multinational industrial companies) and External auditors.
Provide EHS knowledge, guidance, coaching and training to establish a positive progressive EHS culture.
Provide front line practical EHS advice on a day-to-day operational basis.
Provide support with the Company’s integrated EHSQ Management Systems including legal compliance and provide support and guidance to the field-based management teams.
Drive effective risk management with the various key stakeholders, including, but not limited to: Fluidcare Site Managers, Support Engineers, Lab Supervisors and Managers, including Job Task Risk Assessments, Chemical risk assessments, etc. ensuring risk reduction and mitigation measures are implemented and there is appropriate emergency preparedness in place.
Lead and/or participate in incident investigations, near misses and hazard identifications and ensure appropriate root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented in line with corporate requirements. Perform EHSQ audits/inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented on a timely basis.
Ensure Corporate EHSQ and Sustainability reporting is accurate and on time. These will be available and presented to the French Management Team.
Accept and control customer site Prevention Plans.
Ensure that an effective and efficient customer complaint system operates within the France business.
Organise and manage internal audits for EHSQ requirements.
Attend training, seminars, webinars where required to assist in maintaining an up-to-date professional knowledge in all areas of EHS legislation, standards, guidelines and codes of practice and ensure that any changes are reflected in the Company’s systems.
Travel time about 30-40% to the Fluidcare customer sites across France, the Villefranche office and Rouen laboratory.
What do we look for?
Appropriate recognized EHS qualification within France is a must.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ EHS experience within a similar environment such as metalworking industry, chemical or an industrial manufacturing workplace.
Proven experience and knowledge of risk management techniques.
Solid expertise in development and delivery of EHS training.
We value knowledge and experience of implementing ISO 9001 management systems, but we can offer that as part of our training.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken is a must.
Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Customer focused – Experience of interacting with Customer teams and their representatives.
Good communication skills, written and verbal & listening.
Good practical problem solving with acute attention to detail.
Strong team player, passionate about delivering success.
Available to travel within France up to 40% (some EMEA travel may also be required from time to time)
Residency in the Lyon area and Rouen are preferred locations.
French valid Driving license.
