Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation of accounts and analysis to present results in compliance with legal requirements (SEC guidelines and GAAP) and company policies. This role will involve overseeing accounting activities and leading a team of 4 personnel, including high-level reviews of accounts payable, costing, sales, AR, and general accounting.

What will you do?

  • Lead SOX compliance for 3 North America entities to ensure accurate and timely completion of control activities.
  • Utilize JD Edwards knowledge to monitor integrity issues, maintain the Chart of Accounts (COA), and request modifications to Automatic Accounting Instructions.
  • Perform month-end close activities, reviewing and approving journal entries and reconciling accounts for 2 North American entities and 1 Canadian entity.
  • Coordinate the month-end accounting close and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP for submission to Quaker Corporate and other management reporting.
  • Supervise the preparation of various financial statements and schedules for external and internal financial reporting.
  • Oversee Quarterly balance sheet and P&L Flux analysis for QH entities.
  • Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with sales/personal property tax filings, IRS filings, governmental reports, and act as the primary contact with internal and external auditors.
  • Supervise daily cash and bank reconciliations and handle ad hoc requests from management.

Education, Experience and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting/external reporting/financial analysis experience.
  • At least 2-3 years of managerial experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including Access and strong Excel skills), SAS QWIS tools, and Blackline.
  • Experience with JDEdwards is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Lease Asset accounting (IFS 16) and Revenue Recognition standards (IFRS and ASC 606) is a plus.
