Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing solutions to support various inbound and outbound supply chain initiatives. This role drives continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies, analyzing trends, and recommending solutions to enhance logistics efficiency and overall supply chain operations. The Logistics Specialist will manage regional supply chain improvement projects, establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), develop training documentation, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success across various logistics functions. Additionally, the role requires collaborating with third-party vendors (carriers), maintaining performance data, and comparing vendor KPIs against internal metrics to ensure continuous operational improvement. The Logistics Specialist is key in aligning logistics strategies with organizational goals, ensuring data-driven decision-making, and optimizing logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Logistics Optimization: Analyze logistics data and trends to identify and implement improvements in inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring cost reduction, efficiency, and service level optimization.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize various systems for data analysis and reporting to extract, analyze, and visualize data. Provide actionable insights that support decision-making and drive improvements across logistics processes.
  • KPI Reporting & Comparison: Analyze and compare third-party vendor KPIs against internal data, identifying gaps in performance and recommending corrective actions to optimize logistics and supply chain performance.
  • Performance Tracking & Metrics Development: Develop and maintain metrics to track logistics performance, supplier performance, and success of various initiatives. Regularly review and analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identify process inefficiencies, and implement practical solutions that enhance logistics processes, reduce costs, and increase service levels.
  • SOP & Documentation Development: Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documentation to standardize logistics processes, ensuring consistent and efficient operations.
  • Executive Support: Prepare ad-hoc presentations and provide support to senior leadership with executive decision-making as required, offering insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with partners to ensure the smooth execution of supply chain activities. Manage relationships with partners to support international logistics operations.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify root causes of errors or inefficiencies, providing actionable solutions to resolve issues and improve logistics performance.
  • Database Management & Scorecards: Maintain databases, extract relevant information, and develop scorecards to track logistics performance, ensuring alignment with company objectives and driving improvements.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields, with a focus on data analysis and process optimization. Experience in managing third-party vendors and understanding overseas logistics operations is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various logistics software systems, strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with developing and maintaining KPIs, metrics, and performance scorecards.
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, experience in creating and implementing SOPs, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, strong collaboration skills.

Working Conditions
Full-time position based remotely.
Occasional travel may be required - up to 30%.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
