Position Summary:

The Pricing & Contract Analyst provides operational support to all the North America Commercial teams on execution of all aspects of commercial pricing and contract policy, and specific pricing decisions and initiatives. They conduct market research to understand competitor pricing and market trends, create new and update existing reports, and help develop pricing strategies. Their role involves learning and applying pricing tools and methodologies, contributing to the team’s overall objectives.

Job Responsibilities/Activities

Assist in the collection and analysis of data to determine pricing strategies.

  • Uses extensive knowledge of the industry to participate in and drive pricing and margin process improvement projects, in collaboration with Strategic Pricing Mgr. Initial projects include:
  • Key contributor in mapping and implementation of to-be price processes
  • Integrate any acquired business and other non-participating entities into pricing processes, tools and practices
  • Participate in IT project to automatically create book, distributor, customer and intercompany price lists from JDE or Insight

Prepare reports and presentations on pricing analysis.

Provide support in the implementation of pricing changes.

  • External raw material tracking and reporting on Market intelligence (ICI, HIS, Jacobsen, BLS, etc.)
  • Provide supporting documentation and data to “sell” price increases to customers (slide decks, customer profitability analysis, etc.)
  • Manage and coordinate price updates for key accounts with a focus on developing standardized and simplified processes (with templates, automation, etc.).
  • Track pricing clauses in key contracts to ensure price changes are triggered and properly communicated as contracts allow and require

Assist in the support, development and testing of pricing tools and systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data.

Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities

  • Calculate changes to indexed pricing on a schedule according to customer contracts. Standardize and improve visibility to the process. Ensure that changes can be tracked to calculate calendarized and annual impact. Facilitate updates to JDE.
  • Track key market and raw material indices for use in indexed pricing calculations.
  • Develop a means to track indices alongside QH costs to determine effectiveness of indices and negotiate implementation of improvements with commercial owners
  • Promote standardization of indices and related price forms

Monitor competitor pricing and market conditions.

Support effective Contract Management for the Commercial Team, while following the North America DoA

Education, Experience and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferred in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • 2 plus years related experience and/ or training in related areas; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Advanced to expert Microsoft Excel experience which includes building speadsheets, pivot tables and working with complex formulas.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Detail oriented, critical attention to detail and accuracy required.

  • Very strong demonstrated math skills, including understanding and ability to understand and perform exchange rate and unit of measure conversions accurately.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • JDE experience preferred or alternatively demonstrated ability to learn enterprise system software.
