As the Product Application Engineer for metalworking fluids you are the lead in the North India region playing a key role in our goal of exceeding customer expectations. You will be an expert in metalworking processes and translating customer needs into innovative product solutions in coordination with the R&D, sales and marketing team.

 

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the India North region in product application support for the metalworking fluids business mainly focused on automotive OEM, Tier1 and general industrial sectors.
  • Communicate directly with the sales team for alignment with the account strategy to achieve maximum business potential.
  • Manage internal and external contacts through customer production process including needs identification, translating the objective to the research and development team, application, performance, cost parameters and servicing in accordance with marketing and sales objectives.
  • Provide commercial and applications support to the frontline sales teams, direct and indirect customers in the region including product training, product recommendation, problem solving and trial support.
  • Select appropriate products in accordance with business needs and product line strategy and propose product modifications that are aimed at maintaining our leadership position in the market and exceed customer expectations.
  • Prepare and create customer presentations and trainings that demonstrate the benefits and value Quaker Houghton can offer.
  • Identify and act upon any process improvement opportunities within the troubleshooting process that may result in increasing efficiency, reducing timelines and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor the competitors' activities, industry trends & regional regulations to gather information that is useful for innovation and market development.
  • Attend and participate in conferences and industry trade shows.
  • Travel 30% in average mainly within the northern India region.

What do we look for?

Education: Bachelor – ideally in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or any related subject.

Experience: 10+ years in a similar role in the lubricants sector or ideally experience as a senior engineer in the process, manufacturing or maintenance department within the metalworking environment. Having worked in a multinational company is highly valued.

IT Skills: Strong knowledge and high computer application literacy: Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and the ability to learn internal business systems.

Languages: Bilingual English & Hindi written and spoken is a must.

Location: India Northern region, ideally Delhi NCR. Available to travel up to 30-35% mainly within the North India region.
