As APAC Category Manager, based in our regional HQ office in the Qingpu district, you will lead a $50M+ chemical spend portfolio in a business investing in growth, resilience, and innovation. Own end-to-end category strategy with real impact on plants, projects, and margins. Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and technology leaders—not just procurement. Be the category strategist shaping supplier ecosystems and value creation for Quaker Houghton.
What will you do ?
- Manage the Base Oil/ Solvents, Alcohols, Organic and In-organic spend category (up to $50M USD), delivering measurable value through cost leadership, supply assurance, and operational resilience for the APAC region.
- Develop and execute forward-looking category strategies aligned with plant operations, capital projects, and technology roadmaps
- Build strategic supplier ecosystems focused on process reliability, product quality, innovation, and sustainability
- Lead complex negotiations, RFPs, RFIs, and contract strategies to optimize total cost of ownership and risk
- Drive an ambitious cost savings and productivity pipeline using should-cost models, raw material market intelligence, and value engineering
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, and Business Unit leaders to support growth, transformation, and margin expansion
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews to strengthen supplier performance, capability development, and continuous improvement
- Proactively resolve supplier performance and quality issues using structured root-cause and corrective action processes
- Champion procurement excellence through compliant, digitized sourcing processes and best-in-class tools
- Serve as the category expert and trusted advisor, sharing expertise across regional and global sourcing teams

What are we looking for ?
Education: Bachelor level and above.
Experience: Minimum 6 years' experience in a sourcing role with a successful track record in developing and executing supplier strategies and programs involving supplier partnership-alliance concepts.

- Solid communication skills
- Record of driving cost savings and productivity
- Track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Chemical sourcing experience is preferred.
