Job Summary:

The Senior Solution Architect, designs and develops cutting-edge, customer facing SaaS application for web and mobile platforms, leveraging expertise in API-first design and cloud computing. Solution Architect will develop PoC’s, prototypes, application framework and best practices for the development of the next generation Fluid Intelligence platform and IIoT connectivity strategy for sensor-based offerings, across Fluid Intelligence and R&D software platforms.

Responsible for leading technical solutions and ongoing operations that enable our flagship product portfolio with best-in-class Fluid Intelligence platform, this individual plays a direct role as the technical guru in actively delivering complex projects Fluid Intelligence and R&D space.

Key to success in this role is prioritizing user experience, anticipating longer-term needs. Your central role involves design, development along with a high-performing development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Championing Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, Solution Architect will promote continuous improvement and efficiency in development processes. Additionally, this individual will help internalize new technology and develop internal skills and technology talent, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Accountabilities:

Solution Lifecycle

  • Manage the complete lifecycle cycle of portfolio applications from inception to retirement to shape and execute landscape strategy and roadmap for multiple concurrent DIT projects within Fluid Intelligence and R&D space.
  • Evaluate business requirements and technology landscape to identify and recommend the most appropriate technology.
  • Ensure applications and data are effectively integrated into the broader technology ecosystem to create a cohesive landscape.
  • Drive performance improvement of applications to be consistent with the vision, operating modes and processes that are leveraging these systems.

Technical Leadership and Solution Design

  • Lead and orchestrate the design, development and delivery of best-in-class technology solutions for Fluidtrend, Fluid Intelligence connected products and R&D platforms.
  • Own end-to-end technical design, implementation, and operation to create seamless, integrated, scalable, compliant, secure, automated and adaptable solutions.
  • Shape Fluid Intelligence, Fluidtrend IoT and Fluidtrend lab process and fluid care field processes by designing solutions that balance pace, flexibility, scale and longevity.
  • Translate business requirements into appropriate technical architecture that balances speed to market, flexibility, extensibility and cost.
  • Create, review and approve technical specifications and other documentation as required for projects or operations.
  • Serve as a resident expert in mobile, web, API development and connected sensor technologies and perform system design, coding and config reviews and peer reviews to all changes to ensure technical and functional acceptance.
  • Provide input into Testing strategy, establish test metrics and assist with testing as needed in projects. Collaboration
  • Partner with other DIT, Commercial and R&D teams to ensure solution compatibility with strategy, standards and service model.
  • Establish effective working relationships with vendors, service provider and global operational teams to achieve established goals. Operations & Day to Day
  • Support ongoing operations with a focus on Fluidtrend, Fluid Intelligence Connected platforms and Fluid care products including issue triage, development of fix and coordination of deploying the resolution.
  • Plan and perform maintenance, change and release management with the DIT team and external application partners.
  • Manage security and compliance aspects of the technology landscape and drive continuous improvement in operation while representing the team in architectural review board and security architecture reviews
  • Represent in change advisory, Lead release management, user access and audit compliance activities for owned production applications.
  • Design, implement and oversee end to end services, including creating and maintaining technical knowledgebase, user guides, transition, support and monitoring. Innovation
  • Serve as an advocate for emerging technologies and industry trends to bring business value and improve technology health.
  • Champion opportunities, recommendations and advice that support Quaker Houghton and DIT goals.

Education and Experience:

  • At least bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred. Master’s degree in preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive Digital IT and hands-on technology experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Architecture, design, development, test strategy and implementation of Cloud Native Mobile, Web, IoT connect products in a private / public cloud environment (Azure or AWS).
